About Dade Marine Institute
Dade Marine Institute South Campus is a member of the
Associated Marine Institutes. AMI is a non-profit organization
established in 1969, to provide rehabilitative services for youthful
offenders. DMI is just one of more than fifty residential and
non-residential programs committed to helping teenagers make
a lasting, positive change in their lives.
The DMI goal is to assist young people in becoming the best
person that they can be. We will accomplish this by helping students
obtain goals that they will set for themselves while at DMI.
These goals will include improving academic performance, making
positive changes in attitude and behavior, developing employability
skills and plotting a course for a successful future once a student
leaves DMI.
The AMI Foundation Fund -
Money is available from the Fund to meet any financial needs
of individual kids which will help the kids succeed in life.
Examples of permissible uses include college tuition, books,
lab fees, dormitory expenses, vocational training and supplies,
special equipment for an occupation, travel to and from job training,
and special medical needs.
